JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating hydraulic press machines to produce precise sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, blueprint reading, tape measure reading, and fabrication processes to ensure high-quality production standards. The Press Operator will collaborate with other machining and fabrication staff to meet production goals efficiently and safely.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBITILIES
- Set up and operate hydraulic press machines to bend sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program presses to achieve desired angles and dimensions
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving welding, machining, and assembly processes
- Assist in tooling changes and adjustments for different production runs as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience operating hydraulic press machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation techniques
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and quality inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to work with hand tools, tooling setups, cranes, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment safely
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during setup and inspection
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects up to 40lbs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
