Urgent Hiring: Mental Health Social Worker / Therapist – Direct Offer
Job Title: Therapist (Mental Health / Behavioral Health)
Location: 1500 Hazen Street, East Elmhurst, NY (Rikers Island)
Shift: Evening Shift – 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Hours: 8 hours/day | 40 hours/week (Guaranteed)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide mental health assessments, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical staff and correctional personnel
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Active New York State license in one of the following:
- Social Work (LMSW/LCSW)
- Mental Health Counseling (LMHC)
- Psychology
- Previous experience in mental health or behavioral health settings preferred
- DOC/PREA clearance required
