Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Environmental Engineer in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office to support a wide range of multidisciplinary projects in New Mexico and elsewhere while growing your career. The role will include supporting field efforts and office tasks on a variety of environmental investigation, characterization, remediation and monitoring projects for commercial, state and federal clients. A main focus of the position will be to support operations of a large groundwater treatment system (GWTS) and associated groundwater and soil vapor sampling at Kirtland Air Force Base.

Position Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform weekly groundwater treatment system inspections and collect daily, weekly and monthly system data.
- Perform the monthly, annual and 5-year groundwater treatment system sampling
- Assist with groundwater treatment system operations
- Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas and other environmental media.
- Perform routine maintenance on remediation systems
- Support remediation projects including contaminated soil and hazardous waste sites.
- Operate/maintain field equipment.
- Follow sampling protocols including chain-of-custody procedures.
- Document field activities through logs, photos, and all types of field data.
- Assist in summarizing field activities, preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation.
- Adhere to and promote safety protocols.
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or related science.
- Strong data collection and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF and other standard business computer programs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks to support projects on military installations.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- EIT
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and 8-hour HAZWOPER supervisor
- First Aid/CPR certifications
- Mechanical aptitude
