Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic

E80 Plus Constructors, LLC is a 100% employee owned bridge contractor dedicated to the repair, replacement and design of railroad bridges and structures along with other heavy civil projects. This position is integral in the maintenance and repair of the fleet of equipment and vehicles required to carry out this work along with other mechanic needs.

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair various types of vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, construction equipment & tooling along with other gasoline or diesel powered equipment/vehicles. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on company owned vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, equipment, trailers, etc. included but not limited to oil and hydraulic changes and service,
• Diagnose and repair vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, construction equipment & tooling including, but not limited to repair/replacement of the following; gasoline/diesel engines, manual/automatic transmissions, lighting & electrical systems, tank & fuel systems, braking system, heating/cooling system, chassis, suspension system, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, etc.
• Read and interpret vehicle and equipment manuals, electrical, hydraulic or other schematics and other related information to maintain and repair company owned vehicles, trucks and equipment
• Determine the appropriate equipment and tools or method based on required repairs or maintenance.
• Operate vehicles, trucks and equipment to ensure proper operation and to determine repairs or maintenance needed.
• Operate electric, gas and air powered equipment and tools to ensure proper operation and to determine repairs or maintenance needed.
• Use of hand tools, power tools, fixed machinery, scanner equipment, metal cutting torches, metal cutting saws, forklifts or similar lifting equipment. Assist with shop and yard operations as needed
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
• Follow company rules, policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

• Make safety #1 priority and possess and apply safe working habits
• Knowledge and skills to complete maintenance and repairs to various types of vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, construction equipment & tooling along with other gasoline or diesel powered equipment/vehicles owned by the company.
• Competent in and safe use of equipment, machines and tools to perform mechanic work on various vehicles, trucks, construction machines, etc. ASE certified or similar mechanic certification preferred.
• Great attention to detail, accuracy and quality work along with willingness to work on all types of vehicles, trucks and equipment or tooling
• Knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, brakes, exhaust systems along with other related items to allow for the diagnosing and repairing of fleet vehicles and equipment
• High school diploma plus minimum 3 years of related mechanic’s experience
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record (Commercial driver’s license a plus)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $48.00 per hour
