E8 Engineering is a staffing company providing contract expertise to established Aerospace and Defense contractors. Our highly respected customer is seeking an Intermediate CAD Drafter - Aerospace Ground Systems with 5-9 years of experience, ideally within the aerospace industry.
Imagine creating the technical drawings that support the next generation of high-profile aerospace projects. As a CAD Drafter with our team in Cape Canaveral, you'll play a crucial role in designing and modifying the ground systems that make aerospace missions possible—from launch pads to vertical integration facilities.
This isn't your typical drafting role. You'll be working on aerospace ground infrastructure, translating complex engineering concepts into precise technical drawings that bring ambitious projects to life.
Contract Duration| January 20, 2026 - January 19, 2027
Compensation: $40-55/hour overtime
Work Model: Onsite Preferred, Hybrid Possible
What You'll Do
Your expertise in AutoCAD will be put to meaningful use as you:
- Design for the extraordinary – Create detailed 2D technical drawings for structural steel, movable platforms, and architectural modifications to aerospace facilities
- Bring concepts to reality – Develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor to visualize complex structures before they're built
- Support mission-critical infrastructure – Draft modification plans for launch pads, vertical integration facilities, and other essential aerospace ground systems
- Collaborate with excellence – Work alongside engineers and designers to ensure every drawing meets exacting specifications and industry standards
- Maintain precision – Keep accurate, organized drawing files that meet stringent company protocols
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 5-9 years of CAD drafting experience with strong AutoCAD proficiency
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for ITAR compliance)
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Highly Valued:
- Experience drafting structural steel, movable platforms, and architectural features
- Autodesk Inventor skills (we'll help you develop these if needed!)
- Background in aerospace ground systems, heavy industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects
- Ability to interpret and execute complex engineering design concepts
