Construction Observer

E4H is seeking applicants for an experienced Construction Observer to become part of our team. This individual will observe projects for consistent compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards of practice while serving as liaison to the project manager and the client on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource and liaison between owners, architects, consultants, and contractors
• Assist with identification and resolution of problems for construction projects
• Review submittal data including shop drawings, product data, and mock-ups
• Review and issue change orders
• Attend owner architect contractor (OAC) meetings and visit construction problems
• Submit weekly field observation reports
• Track and answer requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposals (RFP)
• Track, log and verify payment applications
• Monitor project expenditures and budget
• Review contractors' payment applications
• Produce efficient and concise meeting minutes
  
  

DIRECT REPORT: This position reports directly to the Director of Construction Services, Healthcare

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry is required
• Advanced understanding and experience with construction drawings, sketches, diagrams, plans and specifications
• Basic knowledge of masonry, ICF, and steel stud construction
• Experience with Newforma and BIM 360 preferred
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment
