This position provides technical competencies to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements and supports mission-critical operations in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily HVAC maintenance and repair activities.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, and air handling systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Mentor HVAC technicians and subcontractors.
- Perform work orders, ensuring completion in accordance with established schedules.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with site safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control system issues.
- Maintain computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) records and work orders.
- Support energy efficiency and system reliability initiatives.
- Conduct inspections and recommend equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Participate in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, OSHA requirements, and DOE regulations.
- Must be a US Citizen
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school certification or Associate Degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of HVAC maintenance experience in industrial, commercial, government, nuclear, or manufacturing facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and air handling units.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Journeyman or Master HVAC License.
- Experience in DOE, nuclear, industrial, or federal facilities.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, and energy management systems.
- Experience with safety programs including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Hazard Analysis.
