Duties
- Lead and coordinate fiber optic installation projects, including splicing, cabling, and testing to ensure optimal network performance.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and power tools safely to access difficult or elevated work areas.
- Conduct fiber splicing, termination, and troubleshooting for telecommunication networks, including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and construction drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
- Supervise field service activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality protocols during all phases of work.
- Oversee the use of hand tools and construction equipment for cable routing, trenching, and electrical work related to low voltage systems.
- Mentor team members on climbing techniques, safety procedures, and technical skills related to fiber infrastructure and electrical experience.
Skills
- Extensive experience with field service operations in telecommunication or IT infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including bucket trucks, power tools, and construction machinery.
- Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques, cabling standards, schematics interpretation, and network infrastructure deployment.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN, Ethernet wiring, WAN configurations, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics for telecommunication systems and electrical wiring.
- Skilled in climbing structures safely while adhering to safety protocols for telecommunications or electrical work.
