What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Category Manager position at E-Solutions?
Locations - Fort Worth, TX/Atlanta, GA/Oak Ridge, TN (3 Days onsite in a week)
Key Responsibilities
Global Services Strategy & Prioritization
- Define and maintain global category strategies for prioritized services domains, with initial focus on logistics and trade services, technical and compliance services, professional services, facilities services.
- Segment services based on criticality, scalability, risk, and value creation potential.
- Establish clear sourcing and governance models by service type and maturity.
Business Model Transformation & Make‑to‑Buy Enablement
- Partner with functions (notably R&D and support functions) to support transitions from internal resource‑based models to external service‑based delivery.
- Challenge legacy “make” assumptions and support definition of service scopes, outcomes, and performance expectations.
- Enable shifts from fixed cost structures to variable, service‑based models where appropriate.
Demand Management & Service Governance
- Drive demand transparency, scope discipline, and standardization of service requirements.
- Define and implement governance frameworks for how services are specified, sourced, and consumed.
- Reduce fragmentation, unmanaged demand, and off‑contract service buying.
Supplier Ecosystem & Performance Management
- Design and manage global supplier ecosystems aligned with capability, resilience, and performance needs.
- Implement SLA‑, KPI‑, and outcome‑based performance management models.
- Lead structured business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contracting, Risk & Compliance
- Lead negotiation and management of service contracts, including SOW‑based and performance‑based agreements.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to ensure contracts mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and dependency risks.
- Support consistent application of contracting standards across regions.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Supply Chain Management, or a related field/experience.
- Experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on indirect categories and/or services.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
