We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) per diem shifts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care within a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, including ICU and trauma medicine, and demonstrate proficiency with advanced medical technologies and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert assessment, intervention, and collaboration.
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/CVICU setting, including monitoring vital signs, assessing patient conditions, and implementing individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, sedation, pain management, and specialized procedures such as intubation or ventilator management.
- Perform advanced clinical procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, phlebotomy, ostomy care, and sterile dressing changes while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic and Cerner to document patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and progress notes accurately.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care efforts involving physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient management.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations including code blue scenarios, airway management challenges, or trauma incidents in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments through physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations; interpret laboratory results and imaging reports such as CT scans or sonography.
- Support patients with complex needs such as those requiring dialysis, long-term ventilator support, or specialized cardiac interventions like cardiac catheterization.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, post-discharge care instructions including discharge planning for complex cases like hospice or palliative medicine.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies while ensuring high standards of infection control and safety practices throughout all nursing activities.
MUST HAVE:
- 2 Years of Current RN CVICU OR RN ICU Experience - Required
- High School Diploma or Associate Degree
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- RN - MI License
Shift Timings: 12 days
