Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection with a focus on patient service and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
- Process specimens accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Maintain aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen collection.
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during the process.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely delivery of specimens for testing.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations in the clinical laboratory environment.
- Keep accurate records of all procedures performed and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with laboratory practices and advancements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in specimen collection processing within a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and specimen handling.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist or relevant training program completion is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
