The People Organization team at Bristol Myers Squibb supports the Research and Development community by partnering closely with leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and foster a high-performing culture. As Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner, this role provides strategic guidance to senior management, shaping organizational structure and talent strategies to enable business success. By championing people-focused initiatives and advising on organizational development, this position directly influences the achievement of business objectives and the overall employee experience. Shapes and implements organizational structures and talent strategies that anticipate future business needs, ensuring alignment with workforce planning, recruitment, and succession initiatives for the Research & Development Center (RDC), Development function. Advises senior leaders on complex human resources and organizational development matters, fostering a high-performance environment that drives engagement and accountability across all levels. Champions organizational change by partnering with management to enhance employee commitment and capability, enabling the achievement of strategic objectives within the development portfolio. Directs the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition through performance management and development, ensuring best practices are embedded to attract, retain, and grow top talent. Guides the design and execution of people interventions that directly impact business outcomes, leveraging data analysis to inform decision-making and measure effectiveness. Serves as a strategic ambassador for the People Organization, representing available resources and services to business stakeholders and strengthening the collective reputation of the HR function. Oversees the allocation of budgets and resources for all human resources initiatives, ensuring optimal deployment to support organizational priorities and maximize return on investment. Leads cross-functional projects to advance HR strategy and operational excellence, integrating project management discipline to deliver sustainable results. Education: Bachelors degree in Psychology, Human Resources Management or related field required. Masters degree in Industrial Psychology or related field preferred. Years of Experience: 8 or more years relevant experience required. Experience: Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing guidance on organizational effectiveness, talent strategies, and workforce planning to drive business outcomes (Required). Proven track record of designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives that foster a high-performing and inclusive culture (Required). Extensive experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, succession planning, and offboarding, with a focus on optimizing talent outcomes (Required). Background in leading performance management processes that align individual and team objectives with organizational goals, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement (Required). Expertise in overseeing talent acquisition management for complex, matrixed organizations, including the development of recruitment strategies to attract top talent (Required). Experience leveraging data analysis to inform people decisions, measure program effectiveness, and support organizational development initiatives (Preferred). Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional HR projects and contributing to the development and execution of HR strategy and administration in a research and development environment (Preferred). Compensation Overview: Princeton - NJ - US: $221,430 - $268,315 Seattle - WA: $243,570 - $295,147 The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown. *Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
