OVERVIEW:
E.R. Quinn Company (E.R. Quinn) is a Long Island-based insurance claims adjusting/investigating firm which has been working on behalf of insurance companies, TPAs, law firms and municipalities throughout the United States for over 35 years.
We are seeking an Experienced Property Field Adjuster to handle primarily third-party and some first-party property damage claims in the New York Metropolitan area. Our adjusters handle field activities outside the office including inspections, estimates, evaluations, negotiations and reports on property claims, as well as occasional desk reviews. The position is currently part-time/contract with potential to become a full-time salaried/benefited position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute thorough claim investigations; property inspections, preparing diagrams and taking photographs.
- Handle moderate to complex claims independently while managing your workload {from first notice of loss to final closure}.
- Follows established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially costly losses or involved situations, and submits reports and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with insurer's standards and expectations.
- Effectively uses software systems such as Xactimate as necessary to produce accurate estimates.
- Works cooperatively with clients, experts, attorneys, public adjusters, etc. as needed to conduct investigations, confirm findings and support evaluations.
- Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers, providing conclusions and recommendations.
- Negotiate and conclude claims as needed.
- Respond timely to clients, policyholders, and coworkers.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all parties of the claim process.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
- Be expected to travel in your own vehicle in the field while occasionally handling assignments from the desk. (**Full computer equipment setup provided).
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in property loss adjusting (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- New York Adjuster License (Required)
- AIC or CPCU designation or equivalent insurance course (Preferred)
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficiency with Xactimate and other PC programs such as Word and Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service needed; ability to establish and maintain good rapport with insureds and claimants.
- Skilled in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting pertinent information.
- Strong research and investigative skills.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of performing physical inspections; climb roofs, stoop, bend, etc. as needed.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $65.00 per hour
