Position Overview
As a School Route Driver, you will be responsible for a dedicated delivery route servicing prep schools and universities throughout the Northeast. You'll safely transport customer orders, maintain outstanding customer relationships, and represent E&R with professionalism at every stop.
This role involves frequent interaction with school administrators, business offices, facilities personnel, infirmaries, and dining services, making excellent customer service and communication essential.
Routes may vary based on business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver laundry on scheduled routes.
- Load and unload customer orders safely and efficiently.
- Accurately track all customer products to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with school personnel.
- Deliver exceptional customer service during every interaction.
- Identify opportunities to promote additional services and generate new business.
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Inspect delivery vehicles daily and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Communicate effectively with production and warehouse teams.
- Assist with warehouse duties after route completion when needed.
- Complete required paperwork and delivery documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Ability to safely operate delivery trucks in all weather conditions.
- Experience using GPS, navigation apps, and route planning tools.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle laundry products throughout the workday.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
