Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting ESP’s rapidly expanding multi‑site practice network. This individual will manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate closely with operations, revenue cycle, and practice leadership to support ESP’s growth and physician‑driven mission.

Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes for multiple practice groups.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements.
- Maintain accurate general ledger activity aligned with GAAP and ESP policies.
Healthcare Revenue Cycle & Practice Finance
- Partner with ESP’s centralized Revenue Cycle Management team to ensure accurate revenue recognition and reimbursement integrity.
- Review AR aging, payer reimbursements, adjustments, and write‑offs.
- Support analysis of denial trends and billing performance at the practice level.
- Validate the financial impact of new physician partners, acquisitions, or practice integrations.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Support ESP’s annual budget and multi‑location forecasting processes.
- Offer financial insights to operations leadership supporting 15 practice groups.
- Develop cash flow analyses, pro formas, and models for new clinical services or expansions.
Compliance, Controls & Audit Support
- Ensure accounting compliance with healthcare rules, ESP policies, GAAP, and audit standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures across all practice groups.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work daily with operations, RCM leadership, practice managers, and HR.
- Provide financial training and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- High proficiency with Excel and accounting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across a multi‑site environment.
Preferred
- Healthcare or medical practice accounting experience.
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
- Exposure to revenue cycle operations (coding, billing, payer reimbursement).
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification.
- Experience with EMR/RCM systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athena, Epic).
