Role Description This is a full-time, Mortgage Loan Officer role. The Mortgage Loan Officer will consult with prospective borrowers to understand their financial goals, gather and analyze application information, and recommend appropriate mortgage products. Responsibilities include guiding clients through the loan process, preparing and submitting complete loan files, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and company policies. The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships, delivering responsive customer service, and building referral networks with real estate professionals and other partners to generate new business. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be expected to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of ethics, accuracy, and client care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Loan Officer, including managing a pipeline of residential mortgage applications.
- Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and current market trends, products, and regulations.
- Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending processes, including loan structuring, documentation, and closing.
- Familiarity with Underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
- Exceptional Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and support clients through complex decisions.
- Ability to work on-site in the Detroit Metropolitan Area and maintain a professional presence with clients and partners.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and basic office software (e.g., MS Office, email, spreadsheets).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Current or eligible state mortgage loan originator license and registration as required by NMLS and applicable regulations.
