Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on compressed air systems and mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Repair and replace components such as motors, valves, filters, belts, hoses, and electrical wiring to restore system functionality.
- Conduct small engine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and other power generation systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs accurately.
- Follow safety protocols during manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or working in confined spaces.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections thoroughly for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a focus on dealership or industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of repair principles combined with electrical experience including diagnostics and wiring repairs.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings is essential for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other mechanical repair tools safely and effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge of pneumatic systems used in compressed air applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required during equipment repair or installation projects.
- Valid certifications in automotive repair or heavy machinery are preferred; experience with Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
