E-Logic is seeking multiple Part-Time School Bus Operators (Non-CDL) to support the D.C. Safe Passage Program. Operators will provide safe and reliable transportation services for students to and from schools within designated Safe Passage Zones in Wards 7 and 8. They will work collaboratively with assigned DCSC Aides to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transportation services.
Schedule: This is a part-time position of 6 hours per day, split into two shifts, a 3-hour morning shift and a 3-hour afternoon shift to align with student pick-up and drop-off times.
Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for DCSC-authorized students.
- Operate vehicles designed to carry 10 or more passengers, such as passenger vans, shuttles, or sedans.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring functionality and safety of vehicle components, including tires, lights, oil levels, and first aid kits.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and records, documenting mileage, fuel usage, and stops.
- Report defects, traffic violations, accidents, or operational issues immediately.
- Keep vehicles clean and sanitized daily after each commute.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle emergency evacuation plans and execute evacuations as needed.
- Adhere strictly to DCSC policies, including only transporting authorized students.
- Work closely with DCSC Aides to ensure student safety and supervision during transportation.
- Follow all communication protocols, including reporting issues to the DCSC Dispatcher.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience driving commercial passenger vehicles (e.g., shuttle vans, sedans).
- Possess and maintain a valid license appropriate for assigned vehicles.
- Current and valid CPR and First Aid certifications, maintained without lapse.
- A clean driving record with zero incidents of serious motor vehicle violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, hit-and-run).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Proof of a negative TB test.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven ability to operate vehicles safely in varying traffic and weather conditions.
