About The Position
The Senior Director of Student Engagement and Well-Being provides strategic leadership for student wellness, engagement, and school culture across the network’s three campuses. This role oversees the development and implementation of systems, programs, and practices that support students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and physical well-being while fostering safe, inclusive, and joyful school communities.
The Senior Director leads psychoeducation, prevention, and intervention services within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and manages clinical and student support staff across campuses. In partnership with school leaders, teachers, operational teams, and families, the Senior Director drives a cohesive vision for student culture and engagement, ensuring consistent expectations, restorative practices, and evidence-informed interventions that promote student success, belonging, and overall wellness.
This position reports to the Managing Director of Schools.
Starting salary: $112,332 - $133,553

You Will
Direct the Student Wellness Strategy And Coordinate Wellness Services
- Identify school-wide or classroom trends in physical, social, emotional, trauma, and behavioral health needs and provide recommendations regarding student policies and systems related to student wellness.
- Maintain a robust professional network through collaboration with clinical and health education staff
- Develop student programming in mental health, truancy prevention and intervention, nutrition, and physical activity.
- Coordinate crisis interventions; oversee systems for conducting student safety/threat assessments, interventions, and referrals.
- Coordinate services provided by community partners offered to students and families on campus.
- Act as the Foster Care Liaison, collaborating with CFSA and other agencies to support students' transportation and support services within the foster care system.
- Collaborate with families by sharing relevant resources, building a strong home-school connection with individual families, and making referrals to community agencies.
- Participate and actively contribute to all multi and inner-disciplinary student support team meetings.
- Maintain accurate data and records relevant to planning, implementation, and evaluation of student wellness services.
- Adhere to the ethics and values of the Social Work and/School Counseling profession and practice according to the NASW Code of Ethics, Professional School Counseling Standards, and IDEA regulations.
- Provide guidance and supervision for social workers, professional school counselors, and graduate social work and counseling students.
- Supervise and support the Attendance Coordinator in implementing effective attendance monitoring, outreach, intervention, and compliance systems across all campuses.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve network-wide attendance systems, procedures, and structures in partnership with campus leadership and operations teams to promote strong student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
- Lead the integration of attendance data and interventions within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, ensuring campuses have clear processes for identifying attendance concerns early and providing targeted student and family support.
- Partner with school leaders and family-facing staff to analyze attendance trends, monitor progress toward attendance goals, and develop proactive strategies that strengthen student engagement, belonging, and daily attendance.
- Coordinate monthly collaboration, calibration, and norming meetings for culture and student support leaders across all campuses to ensure alignment in systems, expectations, and responses to student behavior and engagement.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine network-wide student culture systems, including behavior expectations, restorative practices, student recognition systems, and student engagement structures. Maintain knowledge of current research, legal requirements, and best practices related to student wellness, school climate, restorative practices, and student engagement.
- Coordinate execution of student climate and SEL surveys and lead analysis of results in coordination with campus leadership teams.
- Partner with campus leadership teams to analyze culture, attendance, behavior, and climate data in order to identify trends, monitor progress, and develop responsive action plans.
- Lead the annual review and revision of student and family handbooks in collaboration with campus teams to ensure consistency, clarity, equity, and alignment with organizational values and policies.
- Facilitate professional development and coaching for school leaders and staff related to restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, culturally responsive practices, de-escalation, and student engagement.
- Support campus leaders in responding to complex student situations, strengthening family partnerships, and ensuring alignment between behavioral, wellness, and academic supports within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
- Partner with the academic leadership team to design and maintain a coherent Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that seamlessly integrates academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions across all campuses.
- Lead the development of network-wide tiered behavior solutions and social-emotional learning (SEL) instructional toolkits to strengthen educator capacity and ensure school-wide consistency.
- Establish and monitor clear criteria for student entry and exit across Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports, utilizing universal screening data, behavior trends, and progress monitoring probes.
- Facilitate monthly MTSS guiding team meetings to review fidelity of implementation, analyze cross-campus trends, and provide targeted coaching to Deans of Culture and student support staff on data-driven decision-making.
- Support teachers' trauma-informed knowledge and skills by sharing relevant professional and community resources, leading professional development, consulting with individual staff, teachers, and supporting the school's social curriculum's practical use.
- Develop and facilitate staff training in mandatory child abuse and neglect reporting, anti-bullying/harassment/discrimination education and prevention, and social emotional learning curriculum.
- Performs other duties as required.
You have:
- A degree and/or advanced training in public health administration, social work, or counseling
- A valid License Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license;
- Seven or more years of experience working, with a concentration in school health and mental health services, in an educational setting serving historically marginalized communities;
- Inner ability, stamina, and self-care strategies necessary to work with populations experiencing trauma, poverty, housing insecurity, healthcare inequities and other forms of disenfranchisement;
- Training and commitment to ongoing, trauma-informed learning around racial and health justice, especially connected to children and families;
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills;
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team and motivate, inspire, and hold others accountable to individual and team goals;
- Commitment to meeting the needs of every child in a diverse population; and
- Commitment to his/her learning and professional development.
- An advanced degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition/Dietetics, Social Work, Health Education,, or other similar field or related professional experience;
- A valid License Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license;
- Proficiency in another language
- Experience teaching in a Preschool - 12th grade setting
