Overview of the Role

The OST Director serves as the strategic and operational leader of all PK–12 Out-of-School Time programming. This role is responsible for establishing the vision, systems, staffing structures, and operational practices that ensure high-quality, equitable, and engaging OST experiences across all campuses. The Director oversees the development, monitoring and evaluation of all OST programming, including before care, after care and summer programming. The Director oversees staffing, budgeting, compliance oversight, professional development, partnerships and cross-campus alignment ensuring OST programming supports college, career, and life readiness. The OST Director reports to the Managing Director of Instruction, & Assessment, and will directly manage the Out of School Time Manager and Out of School Time Coordinator.

The Responsibilities Of The OST Director Include

Strategic Leadership, & Program Development

  • Develop and implement a long-term vision for OST programming aligned to academic priorities, organizational goals, college and career readiness, and student enrichment.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Middle School and High School OST programming, including enrichment, STEAM pathways, and student engagement opportunities.
  • Utilize participation data, student outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to strengthen programming and increase student engagement.
  • Lead program quality efforts across campuses through observations, walkthroughs, feedback cycles, and continuous improvement planning.
  • Ensure vertical alignment of OST programming from Elementary through High School.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities for OST staff.
  • Manage budget planning, expenditures, purchasing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all OST-related regulations, licensing requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.

Family Engagement External Relations

  • Oversee family communication systems across all OST programming.
  • Develop and distribute a quarterly OST newsletter for families across all campuses.
  • Serve as the primary point person for families, and community partners.
  • Increase OST visibility through events, showcases, marketing efforts, family engagement opportunities, and community partnerships.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, higher education institutions, industry partners, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Expand student access to STEAM enrichment, workforce development, mentorship, internships, and postsecondary opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in external meetings, partnership discussions, and community engagement opportunities.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $86,250 - $97,423

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • 7-10 years of experience working with PK-12 students;
  • Experience leading in a school or childcare setting;
  • Outstanding organizational skills and acute attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to accept direction and feedback, and work independently, when appropriate;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills; and
  • Ability to collaborate productively across teams.

You Might Also Have

  • Experience managing adults;
  • Spanish language skills;
  • Project management experience; and
  • Experience managing compliance.
