Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated local routes
- Deliver freight accurately and on time, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, including manual transmission checks when applicable
- Must be knowledgeable about how to drive a 13-speed transmission
- Maintain detailed records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers to coordinate routes and address any delivery issues promptly
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers in local settings
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles including 13-Speeds
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations
- Experience with route driving and delivery driver responsibilities in various truck types
- Ability to climb a ladder on the trailer used for hauling sand
- Excellent attention to detail for vehicle inspections and safety compliance
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and dispatchers
