Paints parts to meet customer and internal quality requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Paints parts consistent to customer and internal quality needs.
  • Applies powder per recommended standard mill thickness, per instructions on the paint line monitor or quality sign off sheet.
  • Reads and understands paint inspection equipment including film gauges, delta e-meter, gloss meter, and is able to visually inspect parts.
  • Maintains equipment in top working condition and clean at all times.
  • Cleans paint booth and guns to ensure there is no color transfer.
  • Keeps surrounding work are clean and clear of powder.
  • Follows paint line monitor instructions on proper powder color and application.
  • Helps other department employees as needed when there are no parts to paint or when line has stopped.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; 3-5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
