What You'll Do:
Job Overview- The Manufacturing Technician Apprentice-Level 1 is an entry level, union/hourly winery operator position within the Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program (MT Program). The MT Program prepares the apprentice to advance to a journey level Manufacturing Technician in 3 years and involves fundamental learning and skills development by various mediums, including classroom, lab and on-the-job-training. The Apprentice performs machine operations, changeover and minor maintenance techniques, further developing the apprentice's knowledge, problem-solving, and technical abilities as they progress through the MT Program. It is fully expected that at the conclusion of the MT Program, the apprentice with minimal supervision, will be performing journey level machine center operations, changeover, total production maintenance (TPM) and all required ancillary tasks associated with the packaging machine(s) and their production line(s) to which an apprentice is assigned. The apprentice is subject to all provisions of the Manufacturing Technician Apprentice Program.
Job Responsibilities-
- A progressing Manufacturing Technician apprentice will cross train on a multitude of equipment centers within a Department, to include different lines and product packaging, e.g. glass, polyethylene terephthalate, cans, bag ‘n the box.
- A progressing Manufacturing Technician apprentice will be required to complete a series of educational courses in addition to on-the-job-training throughout the 3-year duration of the program. (Satisfactory progression in the apprenticeship program requires the successful completion of these courses).
- Participates in line changes as required.
- Rotates between equipment centers as required.
- Operates production equipment as required.
- Participates in the setup and re-supply of several different production lines.
- Inspects and performs capacity checks on all packages on all lines.
- Responsible for minor servicing and repair on certain production equipment.
- Performs all essential functions at an acceptable level
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- 18 years of age or older
- Required to pass WorkKeys Assessments with a minimum score:
- Applied Math – 4
- Locating Information or Graphic Literacy – 4
- Reading for Information or Workplace Documents– 4
- Required to work any shift or any day of the week as needed.
- Required to comply with company GMP policies.
- Mechanical aptitude and dexterity required.
- Skilled in written and oral communication.
- Skilled in problem solving and decision-making.
- Attention to detail and works with a sense of urgency.
- Must be able to accept constructive feedback and adjust behavior accordingly.
- Committed to continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with torso rotation and neck movement on an occasional basis.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $21.43-$21.43
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
