Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Baltimore, MD. The Intermodal Dispatcher will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods and freight through various modes of transportation. Key duties include scheduling and dispatching drivers, providing accurate and timely communication with drivers and clients, monitoring shipment pickups and deliveries, and addressing potential issues such as delays or route changes. The role also includes maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively coordinate scheduling and logistics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with drivers, clients, and team members
- Problem-solving skills to adapt to changing circumstances and resolve logistical challenges
- Proficiency in computer systems, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and procedures
- Previous experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain detail-oriented under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in logistics or a related field is beneficial
