Job Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for keeping plant equipment, mobile equipment, production machinery, and facility systems operating safely and efficiently. This position performs preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, fabrication, welding, torch cutting, and parts replacement on plant machinery, buildings, and mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, excavators, sweepers, trucks, and plant vehicles. The role also maintains service records, coordinates required inspections, obtains pricing for parts, recommends major repairs or replacement when needed, and supports maintenance and production teams to reduce downtime and maintain reliable operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance

· Plan, prioritize, and complete maintenance and repair work using drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and work orders.

· Perform routine preventive maintenance, including inspecting drives, motors, belts, bearings, gears, filters, fluid levels, and other equipment components.

· Inspect, operate, test, troubleshoot, and diagnose machinery, engines, conveyors, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, hydraulic equipment, and related production equipment.

· Repair, rebuild, install, align, and balance machinery, equipment, wiring, electrical components, pipe systems, plumbing, and related facility systems.

· Set up and operate machine tools, cutting torches, welding equipment, and fabrication tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, tools, or metal components.

· Source, order, maintain, and track parts, tools, supplies, and equipment inventory needed for maintenance and repair work.

· Estimate repair costs, recommend appropriate service or repair actions, and assist with decisions that reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, parts used, costs, and completed service work.

· Maintain buildings, facility structures, and work areas through routine inspections, repairs, upkeep, housekeeping, and safe work practices.

· Attend shift or maintenance meetings as needed to review priorities, coordinate work, and minimize production downtime.

· Observe all company safety procedures and ensure hazardous materials or waste are handled and disposed of properly.

Mechanic

· Performs 250/500/1000-hour services to the plant's mobile equipment and maintains an active service logbook for all equipment. Equipment includes the following;

Front End Loaders / Skid Steers / Forklifts / Excavator / Sweepers / Trucks / plant vehicles

· Handles mobile equipment and plant machinery repairs when necessary.

· Includes obtaining pricing for needed parts.

· Coordinate State and DOT inspections for on road equipment.

· Provide recommendations for major repair or replacement.

· Makes repairs to plant buildings when necessary.

· Performs minor welding / torch cutting / metal fabrication as needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational, technical, or related training preferred.

· Minimum of 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or related experience preferred.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyors, motors, drives, and manufacturing equipment.

· Proficiency in MIG and stick welding, fabrication, and use of cutting torches preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals.

· Ability to use precision measuring devices, electrical diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, hoists, lifts, cranes, hydraulic jacks, and related maintenance equipment safely.

· Basic computer skills, including ability to research parts and equipment.

· Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and management.

· Commitment to safe work practices, equipment reliability, quality standards, and continuous learning.

Physical Demands

· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and working with full-body motion.

· Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 70 pounds, with occasional heavier exertion as job duties require.

· Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.

· Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 45 feet.

· Ability to walk and work on uneven surfaces and unpaved ground.

· Vision sufficient to perform job duties safely, with corrective lenses if necessary.

Work Environment

· This position involves working in a production manufacturing setting, including outdoor open-air buildings.

· Conditions are dusty and dirty, requiring adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.

· Schedule Monday-Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening prior to the start date. A physical examination must be completed within six (6) weeks of the employee’s start date to confirm ability to meet job-related physical demands.
