What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Geologist position at E Group?
Immediate 3-year contract position throughout the Southeast region- 100% travel.
Education:
- 5 -10 Years Experience in related field.
- Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Geology preferred.
- Geological Engineering accepted.
Responsibilities:
- Field oversight for monitoring well installation programs, foundation investigations, contamination assessments, geologic site characterizations, or related projects.
- Perform soil and rock logging. Prepare professional logs for soil, rock, and monitoring well construction data.
- Install water monitoring and water quality equipment and manage the data output.
- Manage drilling and other related contractors per company guidelines and procedures.
- Interface with various customers, assist Geologist and Land Group peers to facilitate field investigations.
Skillsets and Expertise:
- Experience in executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources.
- Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting.
- Knowledge of environmental sampling and testing methods.
- General knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of gINT BoreDM Boring Log Program.
- Flexible computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Safety first mindset.
- Exhibit customer focus and conflict resolutions skills.
Schedule
- Typical Worker/Geologist work week is 4, 10 hour days (Monday - Thursday) with some 10 day shifts. Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States mainly Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Agency will be required to provide the worker with a vehicle for transportation (Ford F250 4X4 or similar).
Pay: $55.00 per hour
