Title: MEP Cost Estimator (Construction Consultancy)

Overview of Role
The MEP Cost Estimator will take the project and pull the necessary components together and establish, in an accurate manner, the anticipated cost of the MEP portions of the project.
This position is responsible for coordinating the mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical aspects of the project with other disciplines to assure complete scope coverage. The ideal candidate should have experience in cost estimating, quantity surveying and/or construction management. The MEP Cost Estimator should have the ability to identify opportunities within a project that will add value and help successfully accomplish the client’s desired project outcome.
Essential Functions
- Prepare construction cost estimates, plans, and strategies.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine scope, quantities, and pricing.
- Engage with subcontractors for bids and ensure pricing completeness for various trades, particularly MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
- Utilize estimating software to calculate material quantities and evaluate bids.
- Conduct change order reviews, value engineering, life cycle costing, and sustainable practice studies.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits for project assessment.
- Develop competitive bid strategies and provide budgets from schematics to final construction documents.
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Perform additional duties as required to contribute to team and client success.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Expertise in electrical and mechanical cost strategies, with recent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in cost control for commercial, institutional, and industrial vertical construction.
- Skilled in both conceptual and detailed measurement/pricing.
- Familiarity with CMGC/GCCM processes.
- Experience using estimating software, onscreen takeoff tools, and BIM.
- Professional certifications are preferred.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
