What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Service Technician (Residential) position at E.F. Winslow Home Services?
If you want to work somewhere that feels like family, where people know your name and look out for each other, you'd fit right in here.
E.F. Winslow has been family-owned and run on Cape Cod since 1971, and we still work the way a family business should.
You'll know the owner, and the owner will know you.
This is a full-time role for a tech who takes pride in the work and wants a place to stay for the long haul.
About Us:
E.F. Winslow Home Services is a plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical company based in Yarmouth Port, MA, taking care of homeowners across Cape Cod from Bourne to Provincetown.
We've been at it for more than 50 years, and for 23 years we've taken the top spot for Heating, AC, and Plumbing in Cape Cod's Best of the Best awards.
A real person answers our phones 24/7, and we show up on time.
That reputation was built by the people on our team, and we take care of them.
What You'll Get:
- $75,000 to $100,000 per year (base pay plus commission)
- Monthly incentive program with the potential to earn $2,000 a month on top of that
- End-of-year bonus
- 50%-paid health, dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance
- Paid time off and a 401(k) plan
- Flexible hours
- Take-home truck, stocked from our own fully loaded warehouse
- Company phone, laptop, and uniforms
- Technical and field support when you hit a problem you haven't seen before
- Continued training, and help getting certified if you're not there yet
- Employee events with a team that likes working together
What You'll Be Doing:
- Diagnosing and repairing residential heating and cooling systems (furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, central AC, and more)
- Seasonal tune-ups and maintenance for our Service Partner Plan members
- Explaining what's wrong and what it'll cost in plain English, so homeowners can make a confident decision
- Keeping your truck clean and your calls logged on the laptop
Who We're Looking For:
You treat a customer's home the way you'd treat your own family's.
You'd rather fix it right than fix it fast.
And you want to be somewhere long enough for people to know your coffee order.
Beyond that:
- HVAC certified, or willing to get certified (we'll help you get there)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Comfortable talking with homeowners face-to-face
Newer to the trade?
That's okay.
If you bring a good attitude and want to learn, we'll help you grow into the role.
