SUMMARY

Experienced level project estimator (CNC Machining/Electromechanical Assembly), requiring math and problem solving skills with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in a contract manufacturing company. Duties include developing cost estimates for components/assemblies. Must be a self-starter and be able to interpret drawings, product models, bill of materials, specifications and all associated components. Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing is highly desirable.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with drawings, product models, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards and other information to provide an accurate cost proposal.
  • Provide accurate and consistent estimates on various projects in a timely manner.
  • Secure the best possible material and subcontracting costs by shopping and comparing prices.
  • Work closely with Outside Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering Departments.
  • Develop new sources for subcontractors and maintain good relationship with existing sources.
  • Occasionally perform purchasing activities to support department managers, Engineers, and production.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proficient in CAD software, with working knowledge of SolidWorks or CATIA.
  • Excellent mathematical comprehension and adaptability.
  • Familiar with industry-standard cost estimating tools and software (Costimator, aPriori, Paperless Parts)
  • Skilled in utilizing customer-facing collaboration and engineering data exchange platforms (Exostar, Enovia, Ariba)
  • Excellent computer skills for MS products and other ancillary software.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office and manufacturing environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
