Industrial Mechanic

e&e is seeking an Industrial Mechanic II for an onsite opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA!

The Industrial Mechanic II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing machinery, tools, equipment, and utility systems within a production environment. This role will support operational efficiency by ensuring equipment runs continuously, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing machine control needs including PLCs and relay logic. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and capable of problem solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to internal service requests and production line calls.
• Maintain production and facility areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and free of debris or hazards.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance tasks on all plant equipment.
• Review production and maintenance data to implement or update preventive maintenance programs.
• Conduct routine facility repairs and upgrades involving electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, and some HVAC systems.
• Identify and resolve facility and equipment issues, ensuring timely corrective action.
• Recommend and implement improvements to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
• Train production personnel on safe and proper equipment operation and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Respond to internal inquiries and provide mechanical maintenance guidance as needed.
• Order materials and supplies to support maintenance activities.
• Enforce safety standards and promote safe work habits to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures and digital calipers.
• Proficiency in using common hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexibility to work an adjusted schedule based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical equipment repair.
• Background in electrical maintenance for both low and high voltage systems.
• Welding experience.
• Metal fabrication skills for modifying and repairing equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit at a desk as needed.
• Frequent use of hands for computer and tool-related tasks.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs; carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of working in varying climate conditions including heat and cold.
• Ability to crawl, kneel, bend, climb, and squat as needed.
• Periodic standing and walking required.
