Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries with professionalism
- Manage cash handling procedures, including cash, credit, and digital payments, ensuring accuracy at all times
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items and product demos to enhance the shopping experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Assist in inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and conducting stock counts as needed
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries about products and services
Experience
- Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions confidently
- Strong communication skills to engage with diverse customers effectively
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse customer base effectively
- Experience in retail sales, upselling, merchandising, and product demos will help you excel in this role
- Knowledge of grocery store operations and customer service best practices is advantageous
