Role: Lead Electrical Engineer / Designer
Location: San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX
Job Type: Fulltime/Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive electrical analyses encompassing load calculations, lighting design, short circuit studies, and energy budgeting.
- Design and develop complete electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems, utilizing AutoCAD and BIM/Revit.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior electrical engineers.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on resource allocation and project scheduling.
- Support the Project Manager in effective project budget management.
- Ensure seamless integration of electrical designs through collaboration with other MEP disciplines.
- Interpret and apply relevant codes, and coordinate with authorities to guarantee code compliance.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for design conformity and recommend necessary revisions.
- Perform site visits and generate detailed field observation reports.
- Address Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly and accurately.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through clear and consistent communication.
- Actively participate in project meetings with owners, clients, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or eligible for licensure via NCEES reciprocity.
- Minimum 5 years progressive electrical engineering experience in municipal, educational, commercial, and institutional sectors.
- Demonstrated experience across all project phases, from proposal to post-construction.
- Proven ability to generate accurate, high-level cost estimates.
- Experience in building client relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
- Strong collaboration skills with a proactive and organized approach to deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and BIM/Revit.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
