Description
We are seeking a Full-Time Transportation/Civil Engineer in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can effectively communicate with team members, public officials, and clients to develop public improvement plans. This individual will have a track record in civil engineering. Additionally, this candidate will:
- Produce design plans and specifications for urban and rural public/private roadways, which may include grading, erosion control, and stormwater management.
- Prepare civil engineering design calculations, high-level technical designs, drainage reports, and cost estimates
- Work with city, county, and state regulatory or reviewing authorities to identify appropriate design criteria and limitation
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB-accredited engineering program, or program that meets the NCEES Engineering Education Standard
- Engineer in Training (“E.I.T.” or “E.I.”) Designation
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Experience with roadway design, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling, and presentation of results.
- Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible engineering experience
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer License in the State of Nebraska
- Demonstrated knowledge of Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, and processes and procedures
- Experience with the City of Omaha, Sarpy, and Douglas County, and/or other local agencies
- Knowledge of the Omaha Regional Design Manual and PERMIX
