Description
We seek a Full-Time Engineering Technician- One Call in our Omaha office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate effectively with team members. This individual will be responsible for:
- Processing all One Call, 811, requests for residential developments, researching utility locations, and coordinating with team members concerning the field marking of utilities
- Responding and assigning tickets to self and/or team to respond to the needed requests
- Demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors in many outdoor developed and natural environments.
- Assist with other administrative duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
- Five years of demonstrated experience with utility locates or civil engineering construction-related experience
- Ability to read and understand engineering and utility plans
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment subject to specific deadlines that must be met while verifying the accuracy of own and/or others’ work while maintaining professionalism
- Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule while maintaining concentration in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record & reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel withing a 1-hour radius of our Omaha office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate and/or associate degree in Construction Management, Drafting Technology, Land Surveying, or related
- Experience with utility locate equipment and/or ticketing systems
