Position: Staff Manufacturing Engineer (To be assigned as NPI Manufacturing Engineer)

Location: Irvine, CA on -site

Position Description: The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in transitioning new products from design into full -scale or Low-Rate production. This role requires a multidisciplinary engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise, capable of bridging design intent with manufacturing reality. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will develop and release work instructions and routers, design and implement jigs and fixtures for production and testing, and partner closely with design engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and scalable product launches.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• 5 years of industry experience in Manufacturing Engineering
• Strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience developing detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing routers.
• Proficiency in designing and building production and test jigs/fixtures. 9/19/2025
• Demonstrated ability to support DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Test) activities.
• Experience in troubleshooting assembly and test processes, resolving production issues quickly and effectively.
• Experience in setting up work area with high efficiency workflow for low and high-volume production.
• Strong communication skills to interface across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Familiar with ERP/MRP systems for router and BOM management.
  
  

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Prior experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and aerospace/defense quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Familiarity with PCB assembly, harness builds, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Hands-on shop floor experience with prototype builds and process validation.
• Exposure to automation or semi-automation in assembly/test environments
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
• Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
• May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors
  
  

Other Requirements: It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Salary: 120K – 157K annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
