You will be the nexus between Demand Planning, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality, enabling the business to meet OTIF (On-Time, In-Full), revenue, and inventory targets.
Key Responsibilities
Master Scheduling and Planning
- Own the Master Production Schedule (MPS) at product family/Divisional program level; set weekly/monthly build plans aligned to demand and capacity.
- Translate forecast, backlog, and firm orders into rough-cut capacity plans (RCCP) by line/work-center; highlight constraints and trade-offs.
- Establish and maintain planning time fences, frozen zones, and lot-sizing aligned with engineering change (ECO) cadence and supplier lead times.
- Level-load production to optimize throughput, WIP, and labor utilization; balance make-to-stock vs. make-to-order strategies for UAVs and spares.
- Run periodic available-to-promise (ATP/CTP) checks; drive promise-date integrity with Sales/Order Management.
- Lead weekly MPS/Pre-S&OP meetings; publish constraints, options, and decisions.
- Partner with Demand Planning to challenge forecast quality and variability; propose demand shaping when capacity or materials are constrained.
- Align with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations on line readiness, takt time, staffing, SMT capacity, CNC/autoclave availability, and rework impacts.
- Work with Procurement/Material Planning on long-lead items (airframes, avionics, batteries), shelf-life/expirable materials, and supplier commit dates.
- Coordinate with Quality and Engineering on ECO, firmware/software version control, and serial-number/lot traceability conventions.
- Define and sustain MRP planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, min/max, order multiples) and PFEP for critical components.
- Implement ABC/XYZ segmentation and planning policies (Kanban for fast-movers; MRP for complex assemblies).
- Create standardized calendars, run rules, and SOPs for MPS processes; improve BOM accuracy and configuration management in collaboration with Engineering.
- Stand up or improve dashboards (OTIF, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, plan stability); drive root-cause and corrective actions.
- Identify tool and process gaps; support roadmap for APS/MES integration as maturity advances.
- Convert MPS into firm planned orders and release logic; coordinate with Production Planning for detailed sequencing.
- Monitor shortages, expedite priorities, and re-plan with agility during line down or quality holds.
- Publish and maintain a clear “single source of truth” for the build plan and commits.
- 7–10 years in Master Scheduling/Production Planning in aerospace/defense, electronics, or complex assembly environments; UAV/robotics experience strongly preferred.
- Deep fluency in MRP/MPS, RCCP, time fences, and planning parameters.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft NAV / Business Central or a major ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel; ability to build capacity models and scenario analyses.
- Proven cross-functional leadership with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality.
- ASCM/APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Experience with AS9100, ITAR/EAR compliance, and aerospace traceability.
- Familiarity with APS tools (e.g., Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder), MES, and Power BI/Tableau.
- Exposure to Lean/TOC, standard work, and level-loading in mixed-model environments.
