QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold an earned degree at the Master's level.
- Hold or qualify for Principal's Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education.
- Verify three (3) years successful experience in school administration in such areas as budget
development and maintenance, class scheduling, curriculum, evaluation, personnel supervision,
staff development, fiscal planning and facilities management.
- Verify three (3) years successful experience as a classroom teacher.
- Verify ability to function in a variety of leadership and supportive roles within the school organization and the community.
- In-depth understanding of current educational instructional strategies.
- In-depth understanding of Standard-Based Education.
- Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- Knowledgeable or experienced in using the Dine Educational Philosophy in curriculum programs.
- Experience in implementing bilingual bicultural programs.
- Experience in multicultural schools and communities.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SUPERVISES: All personnel serving in assigned school.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILI fJJ S:
- Administers the operations of the school.
- Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board Policies and regulations by the staff and students.
- Assists in the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Supervises the staff, providing assistance and making evaluations as per Board policy.
- Reports to District Office Administrative Officers regarding the needs of the school with respect to personnel, equipment, supplies and curriculum.
- Prepares school reports for the Superintendent.
- Develops a program of public relations in order to further the community understanding and support of the educational program.
- Participates in principal's meeting and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
- Conducts staff meetings to keep members informed of policy changes, new programs and the like.
- Keeps the superintendent informed of the school's activities, progress and problems.
- Assists in the screening and training of the school's professional staff.
- Approves transportation, custodial, and other support services.
- Performs other duties assigned by the school superintendent.
