What You’ll Do:
As the Mechanic 1st Class Millwright, you will perform all maintenance duties/needs in an explosives production environment for your designated assignment area. You will be responsible for supporting all maintenance needs to the entire Carthage Plant staying within Dyno Nobel Americas policies and procedures and safe working guidelines. Other duties include:
- Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
- Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations
- Capable of working with petroleum based lubricants, various chemical solvents and chemicals with proper PPE.
- Capable of understanding and using all safety equipment, including arc flash, machinery and tools’ guards and PPE.
- Proficient in the use of machine shop measurement tools and devices, including but not limited to tape measures, rulers, callipers, micrometres, dial indicators, protractors, squares, and bore gauges.
- Preform preventative and predictive maintenance activities on plant production equipment and systems as needed or required.
- Proficient in the use of shop arithmetic and mathematics for measurement and layout work
- Capable of the safe and proper use of hand tools and portable powered tools
- Capable of working from heights using ladders, platforms, or man-lifts with proper PPE and Fall-Protection
What We’re Looking For:
- High School diploma or GED Preferred
- Trade School or applicable Military Training preferred
- Journeyman competency status desired
- Millwright certification with 5 years’ experience desired
- Production environment knowledge
Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
