What You’ll Do
As an Initiation Systems (IS) Engineer, you will be r esponsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions that enable manufacturing and drive operational excellence. Duties include:
- Design mechanical, electrical, and automation manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure equipment design meets required targets.
- Responsible for factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
- Direct external vendors to ensure compliance with technical project specifications.
- Provide technical project direction to supportive crafts, contractors, engineers, technicians, and drafters.
- Follow Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Support Wholly-owned and Joint Venture (JV) manufacturing sites.
- Recommend design concepts and improvements.
- Resolve technical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechatronics, automation, electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Strong controls engineering skills considered an asset
- 8 years relevant industry experience (energetics manufacturing, mining, machine design, automation)
- Mechanical, automation and controls engineering in hazardous or regulated industrial environments.
- PLC and HMI / OIT system design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Vision system design & troubleshooting. Pneumatic system design and troubleshooting.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
- Change management and documentation control (Management of Change - MOC)
- Ability to travel within the United States and internationally. (Estimated 25% travel)
