Laborer

Dynavac is in search of an energetic GENERAL LABORER who will safely perform a variety of physical tasks in our manufacturing environment, both indoors and outside exposed to the weather. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team of laborers who support workers in the fabrication, assembly, machine shop, material handling and wash/paint departments. You will have the skills and initiative to understand written and verbal instructions, ask questions and work independently as well as work in partnership with other team members.

Dynavac, located in Hingham MA (south of Boston), is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment for a range of applications that include aerospace testing and thin film coatings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

• Adhere to all safety policies.
• Work in a team environment.
• Load and unload racks, baskets, skids, dollies, and conveyors using safe lifting techniques.
• Move or carry parts, materials, and equipment using safe moving techniques.
• Set up and take down ladders and scaffolding.
• File, trim, saw, buff, drill, and deburr parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Wrap and unwrap parts, tools, and equipment.
• Mark identifying information on parts and materials.
• Lubricate and clean parts, assemblies, and equipment.
• Wash metal materials and parts.
• Work safely with chemicals.
• Clean and sweep and organize work area.
• Shovel snow and clean outside areas.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
• The employee works in an open shop environment and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to heat and cold and weather.
