Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all production planning, materials management, inventory control, purchasing, shipping, receiving, and logistics activities for the New Berlin operation.

This position ensures alignment between customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory investment, and material availability to support safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory objectives. The role serves as a key cross-functional leader partnering with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Purchasing to develop and execute production and inventory strategies that improve customer service, operational efficiency, and business performance.

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for building and developing an engaged and capable team while driving continuous improvement throughout the planning and supply chain processes.

• Lead, coach, and develop planning, purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving, and logistics personnel.
• Establish departmental goals, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
• Conduct performance management activities including performance reviews, coaching, corrective actions, and succession planning.
• Develop organizational capability to support business growth and operational excellence.

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Align customer demand, forecasts, order backlog, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
• Lead Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) processes.
• Monitor capacity constraints, material shortages, and production bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Operations to establish production schedules that achieve customer delivery requirements while optimizing labor and equipment utilization.
• Ensure customer orders are scheduled and released within established lead times and operating constraints.

• Lead inventory management strategies that support customer delivery and inventory objectives.
• Establish and maintain planning parameters including safety stock levels, lead times, order policies, reorder points, and replenishment strategies.
• Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and working capital performance.
• Lead cycle count programs and annual physical inventory activities.
• Maintain accurate material master and planning data within ERP systems.

• Oversee purchasing activities required to support production schedules and customer demand.
• Direct shipping and receiving operations to ensure efficient material flow.
• Monitor supplier performance and support supplier improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, and operations teams to mitigate supply chain risks and reduce disruptions.

• Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and weekly planning review activities.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Purchasing to balance demand and supply requirements.
• Communicate planning assumptions, capacity constraints, delivery risks, and recovery plans effectively.
• Support business decision-making through data analysis and operational reporting.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory management, planning processes, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives related to inventory, purchasing, logistics, and material management.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving techniques to improve performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory turns, schedule attainment, and customer delivery performance.

• Ensure integrity and effectiveness of ERP planning and inventory data.
• Develop and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Utilize ERP systems and analytical tools to drive business decisions.
• Recommend and implement improvements to planning systems and processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
