Duties
- Assess client needs and develop individualized care plans that address child welfare, family dynamics, behavioral health, and disability support
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to stabilize clients during emergencies or high-stress situations
- Collaborate with child protective services, family law professionals, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate services
- Offer counseling and emotional support to children and families experiencing trauma or conflict
- Maintain detailed case documentation, progress notes, and reports using Microsoft Office tools for accurate record-keeping
- Conduct home visits, safety assessments, and follow-up visits to ensure ongoing support and compliance with care plans
- Facilitate communication between clients and service providers while working with culturally diverse communities to ensure respectful and effective engagement
Skills
- Strong knowledge of child protective services, child welfare, child & family services, and behavioral health practices
- Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, high-risk populations, and families in crisis situations
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively advocate for clients and document case details clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for report writing, data entry, and documentation tasks
- Ability to manage conflicts sensitively while practicing conflict management techniques
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse communities effectively
- Knowledge of family law, childcare regulations, CPR certification, first aid skills, and working with culturally diverse populations enhances your ability to succeed in this role
