We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Leader to spearhead partnerships, client acquisition, and revenue growth for a new, specialized Diagnostics CRO. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the diagnostics sector—spanning molecular diagnostics, IVD, companion diagnostics, AI-driven solutions, and point-of-care testing—and a proven ability to forge high-value relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Client Acquisition
- Develop and execute a BD strategy targeting small-to-medium as well as large diagnostics companies.
- Drive the sales pipeline from lead generation through close, focusing on clinical trial execution, regulatory consulting, and data analytics services.
Strategic Partnerships
- Form alliances with key stakeholders—diagnostics manufacturers, biobanks, hospitals, and government entities—to expand the CRO’s footprint and revenue streams.
- Identify and maintain relationships with potential co-development partners for new diagnostic products.
Thought Leadership & Brand Building
- Represent the CRO at industry conferences and publish or present insights on diagnostics clinical trial trends.
- Position the company as a specialized leader by highlighting our unique value proposition.
Technical Advocacy
- Collaborate with internal teams (medical and scientific affairs, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, data management) to propose comprehensive end-to-end solutions for prospective clients.
- Stay ahead of changing FDA and global regulations (e.g., 510(k), PMA, CE-IVD), incorporating relevant updates into sales materials and client proposals.
Revenue Growth & Forecasting
- Establish revenue targets and collaborate with finance and operations teams to meet or exceed KPIs.
- Use data-driven analysis to refine business development tactics, accurately forecast deal flow, and maximize profitability.
Requisite Candidate Profile
- Domain Expertise: 10 years of business development, strategic partnerships, or sales leadership experience in the diagnostics sector. Familiarity with molecular diagnostics, companion diagnostics, biomarker studies, and post-market surveillance.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of clinical trial design, FDA pathways (510(k), PMA, de novo), and EU IVDR. Ability to translate regulatory requirements into compelling sales proposals for diagnostics clients.
- Network & Relationships: Existing relationships with decision-makers in diagnostics or medtech is a strong plus. Track record of closing significant deals with mid to large-sized clients.
- Strategic Thinking: Able to shape both short-term wins and long-term partnership roadmaps. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving goals.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to lead negotiations, deliver presentations, and collaborate cross-functionally with technical and operations teams.
