What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metrology Technician position at Dynamic Plastics Inc?
Purpose:
To measure product to ensure dimensional requirements are being met utilizing various measuring equipment to obtain dimensional and/or color readings and create or update reports
Specific Duties:
- Program the Mitutoyo QV 404 CNC Measuring System
- Maintain quality files and correspondence, inspection results, and established quality standards.
- Perform calibration activities, as needed.
- Perform customer requested inspections; analyze results and reports.
- Sustain quality system that complies with ISO 9001:2015 standard. Maintain necessary documentation for compliance verification.
- Assist in audit implementation of Quality System annually at a minimum to ISO 9001:2015 standard.
- Remain knowledgeable in quality standards and theories; continuously implement improvements to the quality system.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Knowledge Required:
Minimum 3 years’ experience. Background is plastics is preferred but not necessary.
Mitutoyo QVPak and MCosmos experience preferred.
Internal contacts: Close working relationship with supervisors, managers, and office personnel.
Working conditions and hazards:
Exposed to molding production environment. Could include standing or sitting for long periods of time.
