Responsibilities
- Safely operate your Sprinter van to pick up and deliver packages across designated routes in a timely manner
- Load and unload cargo using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices at all times
- Verify shipment accuracy and inspect packages for damage before delivery
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and maintain compliance with all traffic laws during route driving
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route updates, delivery statuses, and any issues encountered
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are completed professionally and courteously
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary to move heavy or bulky items within warehouses or loading zones
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred, especially with box trucks or similar vehicles
- Warehouse experience including load & unload operations is advantageous
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe lifting practices in a warehouse or workplace setting
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and route driving in urban or suburban environments
- Ability to handle weight in the workplace responsibly while adhering to safety standards
- Experience operating equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and reliability
