We are actively interviewing for an Estimator to join an employee-owned underground utility firm where you’ll play a key role estimating projects that shape vital water, power, gas, telecom and sewer systems for entire communities. What You’ll Do

• Assess projects and contracts, especially public works/municipal bids and scopes
• Review plans, technical specs, and estimate excavation and shoring requirements
• Support RFI preparation, material submittals, and schedules while factoring safety and compliance
• Analyze labor/material costs and quantify factors like crew sizes, equipment, and subs
• Leverage top estimating software (HCSS, Bid2Win, Hard Dollar) and Excel, MS Project & Primavera
• Analyze and validate subcontractor bids in your estimates and collaborate with subcontractors throughout the project.
• Communicate regularly with clients, agencies, and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks
• Track competitive market trends, evaluate risks/uncertainties with management, and stay current on government regulations

What You’ll Bring

• 4-year degree or equivalent underground utility estimating experience
• Hands-on background in water, sewer, storm, or dry utility projects
• Valid driver’s license and 18 in age for company vehicle operation
• Tech-savvy with experience in estimating software and scheduling tools
• Tackle details, numbers, and specs with precision
• Straightforward communication – clear, direct, reliable
• Keep jobs and priorities organized, even when things get busy
• Willing to train others and pass down hard-earned know-how
• Capable of working in physically demanding settings, including confined spaces, heights, and uneven terrain
