Location: Tuckerton/ Little Egg Harbor, NJ
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM (5 hours/day, 10 hours/week)
Pay: $17–$21/hour (based on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced MALE Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide one‑on‑one assistance to a 38‑year‑old non‑verbal adult with autism. You’ll play a vital role in hands‑on care, supporting this individual both at home and out in the community.
Beyond daily care routines, you’ll also help foster meaningful engagement through activities such as going shopping, bowling, attending movies, and exploring volunteer opportunities. These experiences are designed to promote independence, social connection, and personal growth.
The guardian will work closely with you to guide care routines, ensuring continuity and respect for the individual’s preferences. Experience supporting individuals with seizure disorders is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with ADLs: hygiene, dressing, and meal routines
- Facilitate structured routines that promote comfort, consistency, and personal growth
- Provide meaningful learning experiences in the community tailored to interests and abilities
- Offer companionship and attentive support during shifts
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Patient, punctual, and dependable
- 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
- Adult First Aid/CPR certification
