What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Energy Efficiency Field Technician position at Dynamic Building & Energy Solutions LLC?
As a Field Technician, you’ll work in customers’ homes testing for energy loss and fixing it. You’ll be trained on the equipment and procedures, so this is a great opportunity for someone who likes hands-on work and wants to build a career in the growing energy efficiency field.Responsibilities
- Perform air sealing around attics, basements, rim joists, plumbing and electrical penetrations, doors, and windows
- Assist with blower door testing to measure air leakage before and after work
- Install weatherstripping, door sweeps, pipe insulation, and other efficiency measures
- Install energy-efficient LED lighting, faucet aerators, and low-flow showerheads
- Seal and insulate accessible ductwork
- Assist with insulation assessments and installations in attics, walls, and crawl spaces
- Assist with combustion safety and carbon monoxide testing on heating equipment and appliances
- Take photos and complete job paperwork accurately, using a tablet or phone
- Explain completed work to homeowners in a friendly, professional way
- Keep tools, materials, and the company vehicle clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures and program guidelines
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must pass a background check
- Able to work in attics, crawl spaces, and basements, in hot and cold conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, kneel, and crawl
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in customers’ homes
- Basic hand and power tool skills
- Good communication skills and a professional, respectful attitude
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in construction, weatherization, insulation, HVAC, or home improvement
- BPI certification (Building Analyst or Envelope Professional), or willingness to earn it
- Experience with Energize CT or other utility efficiency programs
