Maintenance Technician I Primary Duties Inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment—including circuits, devices, and apparatus—to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment issues by closely observing machine operations and collaborating with operations staff for effective problem-solving. Perform electrical work as well as minor mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rigging tasks to support facility operations. Operate mobile equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts as needed for maintenance and repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and process flow diagrams to guide maintenance and repair activities. Support production and facility requirements through proactive preventive maintenance and thorough defect inspections—including identifying misalignments, wear, and lubrication needs. Utilize maintenance systems to research and order necessary parts efficiently. Assist engineering teams with equipment design, repairs, and improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety procedures, including ANSI fall protection standards. Participate in shift rotations and perform other duties as assigned to support team and facility goals. Position Requirements Graduation from an accredited electrical maintenance school. Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, which may include relevant military training or equivalent education. Ability to read blueprints, operate vehicles, work at heights, and adapt to various environmental conditions. Additional Requirements Associate degree in Electrical Technology or graduation from a recognized technical training program in electrical/electronic systems. Preferred: 1–3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience within the past 10 years. Preferred: Working knowledge of programmable controllers, PCs, AC/DC drive systems, control/measuring devices (such as limit/proximity switches), hydraulic systems, and test equipment.
