Job Summary: The Pre-Press/Digital Press Operator will be responsible for preparing files for print, operating digital printing equipment, and ensuring the quality of printed materials meets our standards. This role combines technical expertise with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess incoming files for print readiness, ensuring they meet all technical specifications.
- Perform necessary adjustments and corrections, including color correction, layout adjustments, and file format conversions.
- Proficient in manipulating excel files and doing variable data merges.
- Maintain and organize pre-press files and archives for future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in pre-press technology and software.
- Assist in troubleshooting print-related issues and provide solutions as needed.
- Operate and maintain digital press equipment, including troubleshooting any technical issues that arise during production.
- Monitor print runs for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to ensure consistency and adherence to client specifications.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in pre-press software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and RIP software.
- Strong understanding of print processes, color theory, and file preparation standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
